Word of the Day Espresso Shot
If God was your boss at work, how would he act?
Would he stand over your desk with an expectant look on his face?
When you handed work in, would he look over it and then sigh disappointedly?
Would he have a long list of things for you to do, and be annoyed if you didn’t finish them all each day?
As Tricia mentioned in today’s podcast, that’s how she used to view God— as a taskmaster who constantly wished she would do more and be more.
But as she got to know God, she realized that’s not at all true.
God, at His core, is simply present. He loves to be present with us— not demanding anything from us, but just spending time with us because He loves us.
If God was your boss at work, He would be the kind of boss that loved to be with you. And if you turned in zero work at the end of the day, He would still smile, give you a hug, and tell you how much He loves you and that He’s so glad to simply be present with you.
Today’s Challenge
Simply be present with God today— no phone, no distraction— just you and your Creator who adores you.
Memory Verse
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Psalm 103:1
