Word of the Day Espresso Shot
Word of the Day: Watchman
Daisy’s anxiety was coming in full force.
She was driving her youngest daughter to college. And once she dropped her off in the dorm, her daughter would be on her own for the first time.
Daisy’s mind fluttered with all the thoughts of what could happen to her daughter— none of them good.
They arrived, unloaded what felt like twenty bags, set up the room, and then it was time to go.
Daisy hugged her daughter tight, choked back her tears, and stepped out of the room into the hallway and the elevator. As the elevator doors closed, she stared at her daughter’s dorm room door.
“God,” she whispered. “Be with her. Keep her safe.”
Peace seemed to flood into Daisy’s heart and into the elevator. Her anxiety began to subside.
Although Daisy had to leave her daughter— God, the ultimate Watchman, would always be with her.
Today’s Challenge
As you go through your day to day life, are you aware of God’s presence? Do you seek Him when you’re anxious? Today, commit to reminding yourself of how God is the Watchman of your life.
Memory Verse
Isaiah 19:4 says, “For the LORD has told me this: ‘I will watch quietly from my dwelling place—as quietly as the heat rises on a summer day, or as the morning dew forms during the harvest.’”
