She was a prostitute. Not by her own choice.

One day, a man came in and paid the price for a night with her.

But instead of the usual routine, this man stood back. He said he had bought her freedom, and that she should go with him.

She couldn’t believe it. She resisted.

And the man let her run.

But every time she ran, he would go back for her.

Until finally, she ran for the last time. And the man decided that he wouldn’t pursue her any more– but would respect her wishes to stay away.

Years later, she changed her mind. She ran to her love– and he forgave and accepted her.

That love story was written by Francine Rivers, who wrote the book Redeeming Love after becoming a Christian and reading Hosea, the chapter we studied yesterday.

Not surprisingly, the book became very popular and was later adapted into a movie— just further proving that God’s relentless love is irresistible.

Today’s Challenge

Are you running away from God’s relentless love— or towards it? It’s been said that, “If you don’t feel close to God, He didn’t move.” If you feel far from God— approach Him today. Tell Him you’re sorry for being distant and that you want to be close again.

Memory Verse

“Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds.” -Hosea 6:1
