Word of the Day Espresso Shot
Word of the day: Plotted
We all know someone like Stephanie.
She had big goals. Waking up at 5am,eating healthier, losing 15lbs, keeping a clean house, spending less time on social media,
But despite these plans, Stephanie was never willing to do more than simply talk about them. Every night, she would think about how “good” she was going to be the next day. But in the morning, when her alarm went off, she would hit snooze. She would reach for pop tarts for breakfast, throw her clothes everywhere, and scroll social media in the evening.
It’s easy to see Stephanie’s problem, right? Achieving goals involves more than just talk. If we inserted today’s word of the day into that old quote… “If you fail to plot, you plot to fail.”
Let’s be honest— some of us do the same thing when it comes to our relationship with God. We say we want peace, joy, and to walk with the Lord every day, but then we don’t plan or take the necessary steps to connect with God.
Today’s Challenge
Just as Stephanie was “plotting” to not achieve her goals…let’s not “plot” to be immersed in the world or our own selfish desires. Write out practical, detailed steps you can take today to connect with God.
Memory Verse
“Deceit is in the heart of those who despise evil, but those who plan peace have joy.” - Proverbs 12:20

Going Deeper than a Venti: Reflection and Journal Prompt
As Tricia pointed out in today’s podcast.. Queen Athaliah’s plot to seize power was ultimately undone by a greater divine plot…showing that unrighteous plots cannot prevail against God’s plans.
In a similar vein, God can also use evil plans to ultimately further His kingdom…just as Joseph points out in Genesis 50:20, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done.”
It’s worth reflecting on examples from the Bible in which God used bad things for good. Some examples include:
Physical issues being healed by Jesus to show His power, authority, and ability to heal all
Judas’ betrayal being used to ultimately fulfill God’s plan to save mankind
And of course, Jesus’ horrible death on the cross to allow us to have a relationship with God forever.
If you are face to face with evil in your life right now, take heart. God can and will use everything to accomplish His will.
