Word of the Day Espresso Shot
Word of the Day: Remnant
Olivia quickly moved the clothes from the washer to the dryer, hearing at least two children crying for her outside the laundry room.
She rushed out, picked up the baby and soothed the four-year-old.
“Moooom!” Olivia heard from the back bedroom where her ten-year-old was working on homework. “I need help with this math!”
A few hours later, Olivia put the last child down to sleep, walked into the kitchen, and groaned. She had so much still to do.
Realizing that her four-year-old left his play dough out all day, she groaned and tossed the ruined pieces in the trash.
That’s what I feel like after a day of being a mom, she thought to herself. Dried up, useless leftovers.
But later that night, as Olivia read her Bible before bed, she was stopped in her tracks by Isaiah 35: “The desert and the parched land will be glad…”
“God,” Olivia whispered, “I can’t do this without you. Will you redeem and restore me like you talk about in this passage?”
Today’s Challenge
If you’re feeling “dried up” today— turn to God. Ask Him to bring you back to life. He’s in the restoration business.
Memory Verse
“Say to those who have an anxious heart, ‘Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.” Isaiah 35:4
