Word of the Day Espresso Shot
Word of the Day: Blossomed
Hardly anyone sets out to sin.
Rarely do people say: “I think I’ll have an affair,” “I want to get addicted to shopping,” or “I’m planning on lying to my spouse this week.”
But it still happens.
Why?
One reason is that we forget how easy it is to sow the seeds of sin, and let them start to grow. Every sin starts with some small action. Left unchecked, that small action will lead to another action, and so on.
That’s why the old children’s hymn reminds us to “be careful little eyes what you see.”
Casting Crowns expanded on those lyrics with their powerful song, “Slow Fade”, which says:
“Be careful little eyes what you see
It's the second glance that ties your hands
As darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it's the little feet behind you
That are sure to followIt's a slow fade
When you give yourself away
It's a slow fade
When black and white have turned to grey
And thoughts invade, choices madeA price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a dayIt's a slow fade.”1
Today’s Challenge
Are you letting any seeds of sin grow in your life? Ask God to reveal any, and ask Him to let only the fruit of the spirit to blossom in your life.
Memory Verse
“Create in me a pure heart, oh God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” -Psalm 51:10
